About Kathleen

Kathleen CherryKathleen lives in Kitimat, B.C, and works as a school counselor at two elementary schools. Before becoming a counselor, Kathleen taught English, social studies and special education at the secondary school level. Kathleen also worked at Kitimat’s, Northern Sentinel before moving into education.

She is married and has two daughters.

Her post-secondary education was completed through the University of Victoria and she has a B.A. in Creative Writing and history and a Masters of Education in counseling. Kathleen is currently pursuing a doctorate degree through Walden University in counseling psychology.

Kathleen continues to pursue her goals of publication in woman’s fiction and has published articles in numerous magazines including Northword, Highlights for Children, Easy Living and Woman.  In addition, Kathleen is a member of the Writers Union of Canada, Society of Children Writers and Illustrators, and Federation of B.C. Writers.

Kathleen loves to visit with children and inspire them to follow their own dreams. She delights in their stories and loves to visit school classrooms.

As well as writing, Kathleen loves to run, hike, travel and read.
